Judah-620

Hot on the heels of a killer performance at Live On The Green, where they got the crowd hot & bothered (in a good way) for the headliner Ben Harper, Judah and The Lion have announced another huge home town show this winter. Mark your calendars for Feb. 11, because that is the night the rowdy rockers will be performing their special brand of Americana at The Ryman Auditorium. Tickets go on sale this Friday (Sept. 9) at 10 am for $25-$35, however we’ve got you covered for a pair after the jump… if you win our giveaway! Regardless of the contest outcome, we hope to see you at the show, because we think this is going to be huge moment for a local band on the rise. Find out what all the fuss is about after jump, and stay tuned to No Country for more details as the show gets closer.

JUDAH AND THE LION

Frontman Judah Akers and his bandmates all hail from different places around the US, but they have many things in common, most importantly a love for all types of music. Hip hop meets bluegrass with a rock ’n’ roll chaser, Judah and The Lion touch a lot of bases without coming off pretentious. In fact their genuine love of all the mentioned genres only help to flavor the stew simmering in their unique pot. They seem to have found plenty of eager fans to eat up their concoction too. Their 2014 release, Like Kids These Days, reached number two on the Billboard Heatseeker chart and number four on BB’s Folk chart. Their latest LP, Folk Hop N’ Roll, was helmed by none other than Nashville’s resident super producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton), and recorded in a series of marathon sessions over two weeks, doing their best to capture the lightning of their live shows in a studio bottle. Fiercely independent, the band have earned a loyal local and regional fanbase the hard way, through relentless touring and epic live shows, and they don’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. Check out their new music video for “Take It All Back 2.0” below, and don’t forget to enter for chance at free tickets!
