Local new wave garage/grunge rockers Sad Baxter are gearing up for an east coast tour in support of their upcoming LP, Weirdy, which drops digitally July 29 via resident indie label Cold Lunch Recordings. The quick run finishes in Nashville on Aug. 5 at Queen Ave Art Collective, and the celebration, dubbed “A Sad Birthday,” will be the official physical release party with a limited number of cassettes available at the show (pre-order here). Blog faves Penicillin Baby, Lawndry, & Slowtalker are set to fill out that bill, and you can find out more about the show at the Facebook event page.
Even better news? SB just gave us a new track off the record entitled “The Drip” to tease you with. We assure you it is tasty, as is the record, but you can judge for yourself after the jump. We think you’ll be able to hear why this group has been turning heads around town for the last year and half. So enjoy, and come out to support some local indie artists when they return home to Music City next month.
