Road To Bonnaroo 2016

The first round of this year’s Road to Roo competition, different from the similar “Road to Bonnaroo” competition of years past, wrapped up last night, and the the final four bands of the first round were selected by a combination of fan voting and industry judges.  Daphne & The Mystery Machines, Kid Freud, Omega Swan, and The Cold Stares were anointed victors last night, and will advance, along with the first round winners OJR, Heavy Sole, Jess Nolan and Roots of a Rebellion, to compete in the Nashville semifinals for a chance to play Bonnaroo.

The first round of the Nashville semifinals will take place on March 16 at Exit/In, and will feature Heavy Sole, Kid Freud, OJR, & Omega Swan.  The second round of the semifinals is set for March 22 at The Basement East, and, by default, will feature The Cold Stares, Daphne & The Mystery Machines, Jess Nolan, and Roots Of A Rebellion.  Two winners will be chosen from each of those events, and the final four will perform in the Nashville finals at 3rd & Lindsley on March 31 to name a Nashville city winner.  The Nashville winner will then face off with other Tennessee regional winners in the state finals at Mercy Lounge on April 4 at 9 p.m., where, finally, a winner will earn a spot at ‘Roo. Stay tuned for more information on the upcoming events contest and congratulations to the all of the advancing bands!
