We’ve been talking about the upcoming return of indie rockers Bronze Radio Return for a few weeks now, and the show is finally upon us. They are joined by folktronica outfit Howard at Mercy Lounge this Saturday, Feb. 27. If you haven’t already scored tickets to the show, you can do that right here, and head below to learn more about acts.
BRONZE RADIO RETURN
Hailing all the way from Hartford, CT, the six-piece band Bronze Radio Return formed in 2008, but really broke onto the indie rock scene in 2011 with their album Shake! Shake! Shake!, singles from which earned them placements in TV shows and movies alike. Since then, they’ve toured extensively, including stints at several big-name festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Hangout, and Firefly. Their most recent effort, Light Me Up, was released last October via DigSin and took their penchant for indie/roots rock to a whole new level, adding in a pop sensibility that makes their music irresistibly catchy. See what we mean when you check out the video for the title track below.
HOWARD
Brooklyn-based trio Howard are one of the most buzzworthy groups of the last year or so, with singles in heavy rotation on Lightning 100 and features in NPR’s All Songs Considered. Their debut album Religion, an experiment in folktronica, was self-produced, so it’s an understatement to say that these are some talented dudes. Check out this behind-the-scenes performance of them in their Brooklyn studio below.
Bronze Radio Return and Howard will perform Saturday, Feb. 27 at Mercy Lounge. The show is 18+, begins at 9 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.), and tickets are available for $12.
