Hailing from New Zealand, eclectic singer-songwriter Gin Wigmore has been steadily building a following stateside over the past few years, particularly propelled by her incredible 2011 sophomore effort Gravel & Wine, as well as last year’s Blood to Bone. With a soulful and hauntingly earnest vocal style and presentation, Wigmore combines elements of pop, folk, soul, alternative, and even a dash of punk spirit (she previously played Warped Tour), providing tons of crossover appeal. Easily one of the most underrated artists making music today (seriously, how is she not gigantic yet?), Wigmore has flexed more versatility and amassed a more impressive back catalogue in under a decade than many artists can hope for in a lifetime. Gin’s one and only Nashville performance was a 2013 Live on the Green appearance, supporting Matt & Kim and ZZ Ward, but that’ll change April 16, when the songstress makes her long-awaited return to Music City to headline Mercy Lounge.
