Local rowdy, Americana indie rockers Langhorne Slim & The Law released a new LP, The Spirit Moves, over the summer on Dualtone Music, and if you haven’t gotten hip to it yet, you need to ASAP! We told you all about their two-night homecoming performance in support of that record back in August, but now Mr. Slim and the crew have something new to share. Over the weekend, while Nashville was hunkering down for Snowpocalypse 2016, Langhorne premiered a brand new video for his latest single, “Changes,” through Conan‘s site.
“For years I have fantasized about singing with a gospel group,” Slim said via his website. “I’ve also been spending a lot of time in New Orleans. About a month ago, I decided I wanted to make a video for the song ‘Changes’ and asked Casey McAllister (keys in The Law) if he knew any gospel singers in town. He sent me a list of names — Topsy Chapman & Solid Harmony was the first group on it. We called, Topsy answered, and it was on … they met us at the First Presbyterian Church in New Orleans, and we brought the fantasy to life.”
Enjoy the song, and the spectacularly beautiful church in the music video after the jump! No word yet on the group’s next Nashville performance (they’ve scheduled a limited tour into March), we’ll keep you posted as soon as one is announced.
