Rebelution2015-620

As we announced last fall, beloved modern reggae band Rebelution are set to return to Nashville on Jan. 30, for their largest Music City headliner to date, a performance at War Memorial Auditorium with similar-minded Brooklyn band New Kingston. A breakout act in the reggae and roots scene, Rebelution have been winning over fans and cementing their legacy through relentless touring and well-received records for over a decade. While tickets are still available to purchase, we also have a pair up for grabs, so read on for more about the show and enter for a chance to win below!

REBELUTION

Formed during college in Isla Vista, CA, Rebelution have been making waves in the reggae and roots rock scene for over a decade. Celebrated as one of the genre’s best and most prolific contemporary bands, the group have released four full-length records, as well as EPs, remixes, and acoustic efforts. Commercially successful, Rebelution have scored three consecutive number one albums on the Billboard Reggae charts, including their latest, Count Me In, and have managed to crack the top 20, along with high rankings in independent and iTunes charts. Known for their tight, genre-bending, expansive live show, the band typically tour more than 100 days each year, and have shared the stage with countless big names. They recently opened for Sublime with Rome at Ascend Amphitheater, and last headlined Marathon Music Works. This month’s show marks their largest Music City headliner to date, and is a true testament to their nonstop work ethic and rabid fanbase.

NEW KINGSTON

Adopting a more traditional reggae sound, fused with some dancehall, hip hop, and r&b tendencies, New Kingston hail from Brooklyn, and are made up of three brothers. Like Rebelution, New Kingston have garnered a lot of positive press and commercial attention from within the reggae community, and have built up a devoted following through several years of constant touring and three successful albums. Their latest, Kingston City, landed on top of the reggae charts, and really showed off the group’s range and ability to juggle influences without straying from their fundamental reggae foundation.
