The psych-pop quartet (three girls, one guy) Idle Bloom have been on our radar for awhile, rising from the ashes of Fancytramp to make something even better. Their split 7″ with Churchyard “Fare Fumo,” as well as their growing reputation for a kick-ass live show, have left many more than just us wondering when we’d hear more. Now their debut EP Some Paranoia is fresh on the shelves and getting raves for their mix of pop-grunge and psych with spooky female harmonies, with much debate about whether or not their sound is “southern” and the influence of our beloved city on it. Regardless of all that, we think they’re unique and great. If you like Daddy Issues or Bully, other Nashvillian bands who are taking ’90s riot grrl and running it through lots of spacey pedals, you should stream the new EP Some Paranoia below.
