We’ve loved Stone Jack Jones’ creepy gothic Americana since he released his sophomore record Love & Torture this spring. Filled with eery laments and trance-like meditations on heaven and hell, the album is a dark roots record informed by Jones’ own brushes with death. After the mini crime-drama video for the first single “Circumstance,” which you can watch here, he has now released a footage-collage clip for the duet with country music legend Patty Griffin, “Ships.” The song features some unusual percussion, including child’s drums, a buddha box, and a lollipop drum, as well as Griffin’s ethereal voice. Click through to check out the video, which features clips of almost random film footage projected on to Jones’ stone expression (maybe that’s where he got the nickname?).
