DevilMakesThree-620

Cannery Ballroom has a couple of great bands playing Friday night: The Devil Makes Three and Deslondes! This is going to be one high energy show full of genre blending Americana roots music from some really talented musicians. Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm, and tickets are still available for $20.  So, get your dancing shoes on, get there early to stake claim to your spot at the front, and be ready to get your mind blown. Click below to read about the bands and watch some videos because these are two bands you really need to check out!

The Devil Makes Three

Just two months after opening for Old Crow Medicine Show at Ascend Amphitheater, The Devil Makes Three is back to headline their own show. This three piece band, consisting of guitars, banjo, and upright bass, bring a sound way bigger than you would imagine. You won’t even miss the percussion with the rhythm gymnastics of former dancer Lucia Turino, and, with the fingerpicking style of Cooper McBean and Pete Bernhard, it’s hard to not start dancing. Their fourth album I’m a Stranger Here was produced by our own Buddy Miller and recorded right here in Nashville at Dan Auerbach’s (Black Keys) Easy Eye Sound. Part mountain music and part jazz, sometimes described as garage-y ragtime or punkified blues, whatever you call it you won’t be able to resist jumping to your feet and feeling the beat. You won’t want to miss it!

The Deslondes

The Deslondes is a five piece cooperative enterprise hailing from New Orleans. Made up of five songwriters who each take the lead at different times, playing guitars, upright bass, fiddle, pedal steel, and percussion, these roots/soul revivalists are sure to put on a great show! Their self-titled debut album was produced by Andrija Tokic (Alabama Shakes, Benjamin Booker, Hurray for the Riff Raff), and was released in June to critical acclaim. They are known to be a high energy band described as country-meets-Southern-R&B with awesome harmony. Influenced by such legends as Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, and The Band, it’s hard to think of a better band to open for The Devil Makes Three. This is going to be an awesome show!

The Devil Makes Three and The Deslondes will perform Friday, Oct. 23 at Cannery Ballroom. The show is 18+, begins at 9:00pm (doors at 8:00pm), and tickets are available for $20.
