When last we checked in on local alt rock trio Cardboard Kids, they were celebrating the release of their fantastic debut full-length, Echo Boomer. Tomorrow, Oct. 23, the Texas transplants will deliver a followup in the form of new EP High, recorded at Ben Folds’ historic RCA Studio A, and self-produced by the band. You might have already heard lead single and opening track “Vibe,” which has been picking up steam ahead of the record’s release, but, today, we’re thrilled to bring you the official music video for “Over,” Cardboard Kids’ latest single from their new EP. The group describe the track as “a dark, romantic song that we’d love to have listeners build their own stories to,” and the moody, black and white video, directed by Johnathon Holdforth and starring Serese Brown, definitely matches the tone.
In celebration of High‘s release, Cardboard Kids will perform tomorrow, Oct. 23 at the place it was recorded: RCA Studio A. Sites faves Fleurie and CAPPA have been tapped to support, and space is incredibly limited, so head here to grab your tickets for just $10, or, for only $15, snag a ticket, free Hattie B’s, a beer, and a copy of the EP. Watch “Over” below!
