Beloved indie/alt/pop punk group Motion City Soundtrack recently wound down the 10th anniversary tour cycle for their classic 2005 release Commit This to Memory, and now, free of nostalgia, are pushing full speed ahead in hyping the release of their long-awaited sixth album, Panic Stations, which is set to drop Sept. 18 via Epitaph. The group came out swinging with their first new track in two years, “TKO,” earlier this summer, and followed it up with a new song and video for “Lose Control” a few weeks back. As the record’s release approaches, MCS just unveiled yet another single, a definite return to form, with their signature driving, frenetic energy and neurotic lyrics, called “It’s a Pleasure to Meet You.” You can watch the official video, in which the band are transformed into 3D versions of 8-bit video game characters (a la Minecraft), below, and you can catch the group live Nov. 16 at Cannery Ballroom alongside The Wonder Years (tickets here)!
