Cherub-620

After a more than incredible 2014, it’s safe to say that Cherub are no longer Nashville’s little secret. Still riding high on the release of their major label debut, to say that the electronic duo have been busy as of late would be an understatement. And, though we miss their more frequent Music City outings, the fact that these days their Nashville dates are rare makes the group’s upcoming Feb. 7 show at Marathon Music Works with Mystery Skulls and FortBowie all the more special! Because we’re excited to welcome the fellas home, we’re giving away a pair of tickets to this one! So, read on for more about the bill and contest details, or just head here and buy tickets if you don’t want to wait. Either way, don’t miss out!

CHERUB

It’s been a crazy couple of years for Nashville electronic duo Cherub. With humble beginnings as an effectively independent act, the group, made up of Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, generated an unbelievable amount of buzz throughout the electronic and dance community, propelled by the power of a strong slew of independent releases. After touring the world and snagging high profile festival spots, Cherub landed a deal with Columbia Records, and released their fantastic major label debut, Year of the Caprese, in 2014, shortly before a return to Bonnaroo and an appearance on Conan. Now internationally recognized, Cherub have become one of Nashville’s most impressive success stories, and, in just a few short years, we’ve seen them grow from playing humble, small spaces around town to touring the world.

MYSTERY SKULLS

Los Angeles based, Dallas bred Mystery Skulls is the musical alias of indie pop/electronic producer Luis Dubuc, who formerly performed as The Secret Handshake. Like Cherub, his sensibilities extend far beyond the realm of conventional EDM, and Mystery Skulls pulls influence and elements of rock, pop, and soul. His last album, Forever, dropped in 2014, and, if you’re a Cherub fan, you should definitely give it a spin.

FORTEBOWIE

At only 24, eclectic Atlanta rapper ForteBowie has already spent several years forging a unique and evolved voice, and, as a result, has generated an impressive amount of media buzz as well as some high profile festival and support slots, all as an independent artist. His presence on this bill definitely broadens the show’s appeal, and you’d be crazy not to show up early to catch one of hip hop’s most promising up and comers.
