Go ahead and clear your evening schedule Tuesday, Jan. 27, because we here at No Country are keeping our weekly showcase, in partnership with Acme Feed & Seed, going strong. For the next installment of No Country Presents, we are happy to bring you the Americana rock ’n’ roll vibes of Kristin Diable and polished acoustic popster sounds of Christian Luthi. As always, our showcase is totally FREE and music runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., so make sure you get there early! It’s going to be another great showcase of Music City’s resident talent, but you don’t have to take our word for it. To sample the goods, click on after the jump, and we’ll try to save you a seat for the show, but no promises, because lately it’s been filling up fast.
KRISTIN DIABLE
Getting her start at open mic nights in her native Baton Rouge, LA, Kristin Diable has been climbing higher and higher in popularity with her trademark soul-Americana, rock ’n’ roll sounds. Bouncing around between New York, Louisiana, and Nashville, she has a new album entitled Create Your Own Mythology, set for a Feb. 24 release. You can pre-order it here, and help her pledge campaign make the record a reality. The LP is helmed by Grammy nominated super-proudcer Dan Cobb (see Sturgill Simpson’s Metamodern Sounds in Country Music and Jason Isbell’s Southeastern), who also contributes some guitar work. If his last few projects are any indication, his latest work with Ms. Diable is going to climb the charts fast and turn heads all over. Her latest single, “Time Will Wait,” was recently featured on NPR’s All Songs Considered, so she’s already got our attention. You can have a listen for yourself below, and be sure to check her out live Tuesday.
CHRISTIAN LUTHI
Growing up in the burbs of Milwaukee, Christian Luthi came to Nashville to chase the dream and formed his band around 2009. He’s been building on his jazz/funk/pop-rock foundation ever since, and he’s sure to kick start any shindig with his catchy and refined song-writing. With a couple of independently released EPs under his belt already, Christian has been hard at work putting together new material, which he will gladly share with you at the show. He’s also made some well connected friends, including Moon Taxi’s Wes Bailey, who performs with him in the live video we’ve embedded below. Word is the 27th is also Christian’s birthday, so bring some happy birthday vibes to share as well.
Kristin Diable and Christian Luthi will perform Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Acme Feed & Seed. The show is 21+, music begins at 7 p.m., and, per usual, it’s totally FREE. Downtown PARKING can sometimes be an issue. However, if you’re willing to walk a few blocks, street parking is typically easy to find on the numbered avenues south of Broadway, or along Korean Veterans Blvd. Metered spaces are often free after 6 p.m.
