The PBS filming of Bluegrass Undergound Season 5 will take place March 27, 28 and 29 at Cumberland Caverns’ Volcano Room. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. here. And, if previous seasons are any indication, tickets will go fast… very fast. This year’s lineup includes traditional bluegrass, contemporary bluegrass, progressive bluegrass, western swing, roots music, jambands, and several multi Grammy award winning artists.
The lineup for Friday, March 27 features Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Hot Rize, Robert Earl Keen, and Chatham County Line. On Saturday, March 28, Bluegrass Undergound welcomes Jerry Douglas presents The Earls of Leicester, Lee Ann Womack, Amos Lee, and The Quebe Sisters. Finishing up the weekend will be two of the biggest jamgrass bands of all time, as Leftover Salmon and Railroad Earth make their Bluegrass Underground TV debuts on Sunday, March 29, and will both play extended sets with Greensky Bluegrass.
This season, there will be a limited number of ticket packages, which guarantee the best seats in the “house” for all three days. This package grants early admission and guaranteed seating in the first 20 rows to all shows (12 individual concerts), two nights of lodging and breakfast at Fall Creek Falls, a guided tour of the Cumberland Caverns, meal vouchers, and a commemorative merchandise package consisting of limited edition artist signed show posters, t-shirts, and “Best of Bluegrass Underground” CDs.
