Christmas Caroling Party-2014

Tonight, we’re teaming up with old pals East Nashville Underground at The Stone Fox to bring you a night full of Christmas caroling fun with more than a dozen of your favorite local bands.  Those of you who joined us last year will remember arm in arm singing, shenanigans, laughs galore, and some awesome takes on the holiday standards.  This year we can expect the same from friends like Alanna Royale, *repeat repeat, Tesla Rossa, Steve Lee, Hot Tub Club, and Waterfall Wash. There are sure to be some hushed moments when Luella & Tim Carroll or Liza Anne take the stage, and it will be an evening for you to get to know some of the fastest rising acts in Nashville like Jung Youth, Ugly Kids Club, Hotel War, Diamond Carter, Photo Ops, Gardening Not Architecture, Buffalo Rodeo, American Dream, That’s My Kid, Heathen Sons, Tetherball, and Twiggs!

Want more?  No problem.  This sucker is FREE!  That’s right.  Come one, come all to this celebration of friends and music at The Stone Fox starting at 7pm on December 19th!  We’ll have printed caroling books compliments of JIVE! in case you don’t know the lyrics, and we’ll also be keeping it charitable again this year with a canned food drive (for humans and pets).  So, get in the holiday spirit, and regift those refried beans!

We’ve spent the week getting in the mood with little previews of each of the bands that will be performing carols on Friday.  We gave a glimpse into Alanna Royale, *repeat repeat, Tesla Rossa, and American Dream on Monday, spent time with Waterfall Wash, Steve Lee, Hot Tub Club, and Heathen Sons on Tuesday, brought a the star spangled previews of Jung Youth, Diamond Carter, Photo Ops, and Gardening Not Architecture on Wednesday, and crept closer to the finish line with Luella & Tim Carroll, Buffalo Rodeo, Tetherball, and Hotel War yesterday. Head below for our final preview, and make sure you RSVP at the Facebook event page.

LIZA ANNE

When we started pulling together artists for this caroling party, Liza Anne was one of the first we added to the list of hopefuls. We were on board with this young songstress since the release of her debut LP, The Colder Months, late last year. We were so drawn to her heartbreaking songs and delicate vocals that we even jumped on board to help her with the release show for that album. Expect some hushed moments when this rising star graces The Stone Fox stage.

TWIGGS

Twangy songwriters Joe White III & Abbey Philbrick have taken Nashville by storm over the past year.  It’s hard to put a finger on genrefication of Twiggs from their music.  You just as easily tag them as influenced by Wilco as you could The White Stripes as you could Beirut.  What does that previous sentence mean?  They encompass all of the bad ass from the aforementioned superstars.

UGLY KIDS CLUB

Scene newcomers Ugly Kids Club certainly have been making waves this year.  Their high energy synth pop is nothing short of infectious, and their recently released Head Games suggest that the duo, consisting of Steve Wilson and Aliegh Shields, are the face of one of Nashville’s next break-outs.

THAT’S MY KID

Is blues heavy throwback indie rock your jam? If so, let us introduce you to your new favorite band, That’s My Kid. You can hear what the hub bub is all about in the single below, and hang tight for some new jams out of them in early 2015.

The Third Annual Christmas Carol Show takes place TONIGHT, Dec. 19 at The Stone Fox. The show is 18+, begins at 7 p.m. (doors at 6 p.m.), and it’s totally FREE!
