As we dive into a holiday week, we look towards a somewhat slower season for shows. While there will certainly be no shortage of quality music throughout the remains of November and into December, the marathon pace at which we’ve been previewing, reviewing, and running giveaways will ease up a bit, until we kick off the new year. You wouldn’t know it judging by last week, however. It was another busy one, and, in case you missed out on any of our exciting announcements or coverage, we’ve recapped it all for you below:

  • NO COUNTRY PRESENTS: Allen Thompson Band | Tuesday, Nov. 25 at Acme Feed & Seed
  • NEWS: Bluegrass stars Yonder Mountain String Band announced a Jan. show at Cannery Ballroom!
  • NEWS: Singer/songwriter Damien Rice announced an April 1 show at the Mother Church.
  • NEWS: SXSW announced its second wave of 2015 artists, including Nashville acts ELEL, Turbo Fruits and PUJOL.
  • NEWS: As we predicted, the Foo Fighters announced a Bridgestone arena date for next fall.
  • NEWS: After quickly selling out a second night at The Ryman, Hozier added a THIRD!
  • NEWS: Cincinnati pop rockers Walk the Moon announced a spring return to Cannery Ballroom.
  • NEWS: Alt-J announced an April show at the Grand Ole Opry House.
  • NEWS: After a three year hiatus, The Decemberists announced a spring performance at The Ryman.
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our staff highlighted the must see shows of the weekend.

  • SHOW: Nashville’s own Griffin House played at City Winery.
  • SHOW: The Watson Twins performed at Thistle Stop Cafe with Jessie Baylin and more!
  • SHOW: Indie rockers Empires played with Jule Vera at The High Watt.
  • SHOW: Legendary singer Leon Russell performed two nights at City Winery with Riley Etheridge Jr.
  • SHOW: Eliot Bronson played the The Bluebird Cafe with Dean Fields and Andy Zipf.
  • SHOW: JEFF the Brotherhood performed a free surprise show at Dino’s!
  • RELEASE: Switchmen dropped their new EP, Congress Hotel, ahead of a Dec. show at Exit/In.
  • VIDEO: Alanna Royale released a killer live video for “Big Time Me.”
  • VIDEO: Ahead of his solo debut, Paul McDonald premiered a video for his single “Bright Lights.”
  • VIDEO: Kate Tucker + The Sons of Sweden debuted their video for “Give Up The Ghost.”
  • VIDEO: Local indie act Sun Culture premiered a new video for “Young Blood.”
  • VIDEO: Pop duo Sylvan Esso performed two songs on Conan.
  • VIDEO: Olivia Jean stopped by Conan to perform her latest single “Merry Widow.”
