Keeping our weekly showcase rolling into October, No Country is proud to present our latest FREE performance of local talent at Acme Feed & Seed on Tuesday, Oct. 7, featuring soulful Americana rockers The Reneaus and surf rock instrumentalists The Beech Benders.
Per usual, Acme will be open for normal business hours, serving you some of the best grub and drinks on Broadway, but the music should start around 8 p.m. with The Benders, and should continue until about 10. Read on after the jump for more info on the bands, and don’t miss yet another chance for free, local music, brought to you by your friends here at No Country and Acme Feed & Seed!
THE RENEAUS
Helmed by singer-songwriter, husband and wife duo Ashley and Jon Winn, The Reneaus are Americana rock, mixed with sultry, jazzy lounge singer soul, but they are all Nashville (via Bowling Green, KY). Two of Ashley’s cousins, a father/daughter duo of Warren and Layne Guyer, round out an impressive lineup of musicians who are building on their local buzz. Last year’s release, The Season, should already be on your radar but, if it isn’t, have a listen below, and be sure to see them for FREE on Tuesday.
THE BEECH BENDERS
Made up of members from various other bands, including a No Country favorite ELEL, whom we have written about extensively, The Beech Benders are part Spaghetti Western, and part new wave, surf pop-rock, but all instrumental. They have great presence and fun onstage antics to liven up their performance, and even sell comic books at their live shows, featuring themselves in the title role. Enjoy their Ventures-inspired surf melodies, with a slight Memphis soul edge, and goofy cowboy shirts for yourself live… at the low, low price of $0.
The Reneaus and The Beech Benders will perform Tuesday Oct. 7, at Acme Feed and Seed. The show is 21 +, begins at 8 pm and it is 100% FREE!
