Happy July! We hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, and we hope you’re ready for another exciting week of live music. Though the weekend was a bit quiet (we’re not complaining; we needed the break), last week brought tons of great performances, announcements, and releases. In case you missed anything, here’s a recap of everything we covered last week on the site:

  • NEWS: Lily Allen was added to Mily Cyrus’s August show at Bridgestone Arena!
  • NEWS: Alanna Royale announced the release date for their debut album Achilles.
  • NEWS: Live on the Green added Capital Cities and LP, and announced its set times for 2014!
  • NEWS: Underground rocker Greg Cartwright announced a free July 11 in-store at Fond Object!
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our staff highlighted the top shows of the holiday weekend!
  • EXCLUSIVE: We unveiled the cover art and tracklisting for Vinyl Thief‘s upcoming debut album, Fathoms.
  • REVIEW: The Felice Brothers and Robert Ellis put on quite the show at Mercy Lounge and we were there!
  • REVIEW: Langhorne Slim brought quite the crowd to The Basement with Boom Forest and Buffalo Rodeo (w/PHOTOS).
  • REVIEW: Week 3 of Nashville Dancin’ continued with Will Hoge, Drake White & The Big Fire, Clare Dunn and more (w/ PHOTOS)!
  • REVIEW: We stopped by The Stone Fox to catch Shellshag with Street Eaters and Breast Massage.
  • SHOW: Nashville Dancin’ brought on week 4 with The Apache Relay, Steelism, Promised Land Sound and ELEL.
  • SHOW: The Felice Brothers and Robert Ellis kicked off July at Mercy Lounge.
  • SHOW: Swans performed at the Exit/In with Xiu Xiu.
  • RELEASE: Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires reworked Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.”
  • RELEASE: The Gaslight Anthem released two new singles ahead of an October show at Marathon Music Works.
  • RELEASE: Vinyl Thief streamed their new single, “Compact,” ahead of their July 22 release of Fathoms.
  • VIDEO: DCXV premiered a new summer video and announced Vinyl Thief show July 11!
  • VIDEO: The Weeks debuted a new lyric video for old single “Buttons.”
  • VIDEO: Gardens & Villa premiered their video for “Domino” ahead of a fall show at The High Watt.
  • VIDEO: Hard Working Americans premiered a new video for “Blackland Farmer.”
  • CONTEST: We’re giving away another pair of weekend passes to Forecastle Festival in Louisville!
