Haerts

Just like last year and the year before, we’re making it our mission to help you get acquainted with as many bands as we can from Bonnaroo‘s impressive 2014 lineup.  We’ll start from the bottom and work our way up, paying special attention to the smaller and lesser known acts on this year’s bill. Keep reading for your Bonnaroo Band of the Day…

LEARN

HAERTS. Funny name, right?  Pretty sure that is what everyone thought about a year ago when the Brooklyn four-piece first dropped their immediately likable single “Wings” on the world.  Now a year later, we are eagerly awaiting the first full length since their debut (a mere 6 months old) EP Hemiplegia.  While naming your debut record a term that describes paralysis of one side of the body may be an odd choice for a young band, their mixture of shoegazey dream and synth filled retro pop has been instantly accepted by audiences.

Having already toured in their young careers with the likes of Washed Out and Atlas Genius (not to mention being one of our highlights from SXSW this year), we’re about to see what chops they have with the new LP due out on Columbia.  Still no word of when that release will happen, but you can imagine that it is getting close with the recently released, silky smooth, morning sunrise, jam of single, “Call My Name”.  You can check that out below, and you can also listen to the track started it all, “Wings”, to get you in the mood to track these newbs down on the farm this summer.
