Last week was full of every type of music news you could ask for. There were plenty of show announcements, all-new contests, reviews, Bonnaroo and SXSW coverage, and even a few great releases. In case you missed anything, here’s a recap of it all:

  • NEWS: A newly reformed version of Black Flag will be at Exit/In in June.
  • NEWS: Legendary rockers Kiss and Def Leppard will hit Bridgestone Arena on their summer tour.
  • NEWS: Local rockers Vinyl Thief announced their first hometown show in quite awhile, April 11 at The High Watt.
  • NEWS: Ray LaMontagne announced a July 25 stop at The Woods at Fontanel.
  • NEWS: John and Jacob announced their return to 3rd and Lindsley next month.
  • NEWS: Voting kicked off for this year’s Music City Mayhem competition! 
  • NEWS: Spoon announced a spring show at Marathon Music Works.
  • FEATURE: This Weekend in Nashville: Our staff highlighted our top show picks for the weekend.
  • FEATURE: We examined the history and impact of Morrissey‘s Vauxhall and I ahead of its reissue and his show at The Ryman.

  • SHOW: The Pains of Being Pure At Heart and Eternal Summers performed at Exit/In.
  • SHOW: Miniature Tigers, Bear Hands, and Total Slacker took over The High Watt!
  • RELEASE: Denny and The Jets released a new single, “Mama’s Got the Blues,” from their upcoming LP.
  • RELEASE: Black Lips dropped a new album, Underneath the Rainbow, as well as a video for “Justice After All.”
  • FUN: Hump Day Diversion: Here Comes the Clown
  • CONTEST: Fan of Spoon? We’re giving away tickets to their May 8 show at Marathon Music works!
  • CONTEST: We’re giving away tickets to see the legendary Television with Tristen March 31 at Marathon Music Works!
