The Whistles And The Bells

We’ve been pretty stoked on the new record from The Whistles & The Bells since we got a sneak peek several months ago.  We were so impressed that we convinced the fellas to let us premiere the track “Transistor Resistor” for you.  Welp, all that hype was for their album release, and we are getting together to do just that tonight at 3rd & Lindsley.  Phin, Albatross, & Good Graeff round out a solid bill.  You can still snag $10 tickets right here, and read on for previews and media to show you why you should check this one out!

THE WHISTLES & THE BELLS

We’ve already spent a bit of time talking about the new project for former Cadillac Sky front man Bryan Simpson.  It’s a bit of a dip into a lot of musical sub-genres ranging in and out of Americana, folk, and rock; but the story of the challenges in Simpson’s life are apparent in the lyrics.  You can have another listen to the track “Transistor Resistor” below.

PHIN

Phin blasted onto the Nashville music scene in the past year or so, and had it not been for Leagues hitting the scene around the same time, they might already be out of reach of the standard club scene purveyor. Channeling influences like MGMT or Local Natives, they certainly have the musical chops, and will be a welcome addition to this stacked bill. Check out “Those Killers” below to get a taste of what we’re talking about.

ALBATROSS

Channeling folk-pop and indie-rock sensibilities with great songwriting, Albatross is a recent Nashville transplant that seems to fit right in to the local music scene. It’s feel good music at it’s finest, and you can start feeling as nice as a spring day with the track “Tall Tales” from the EP A Kind Of Folk below.

GOOD GRAEFF

This Florida based three piece fronted by the twin Graeff gals (Brooke and Brittany) is about as true to indie-pop as it comes these days.  Upon first listen, you’ll wonder if you’ve been listening to Good Graeff for years.  Have a listen to their debut EP Better Half below to understand why you’ll want to get there at doors to make sure you see this.

The Whistles & The Bells, Phin, Albatross, and Good Graeff will perform tonight (March 20) at 3rd & Lindsley. The show is all ages, begins at 8pm (doors at 6pm), and tickets are available for $10.
