Folk influences, pop hooks, and rock attitude are what define Farewell Flight, and is what has given their single “The Places We’ll Go” a significant boost ahead of the release of their newest album I Was A Ghost. We’ve spent the last week or so with the record, and, while, it is certainly relaying stories from the lives of Luke Foley (lead vocals/guitar/piano/synths), Caleb Allensworth (drums/samples) and Brian Campbell (lead guitar), its bright melodies seem to sweep away any worries or fears in a style that could sway the heart of most fans of Edward Sharpe or The Lumineers.
The album officially drops March 4, but Nashvillians will get started early at the group’s record release show tonight (Feb. 6) at The High Watt. To get you in the mood, we are premiering a new single, “Scarecrow”, below, and, in case you missed it, definitely check out the fun lyric vid for the infinitely catchy “The Places We’ll Go.” Site faves The Joy Of Painting and Lorien open things up around 9 p.m., and you can go ahead and snag your $8 tickets right here.
