Every once in awhile, for no particular reason, a random Nashville weeknight will just happen to be packed with fantastic shows. Tonight is one of those nights. It’s also my birthday; Nashville, I accept your gift of badass music.

After the jump, we’ve got a Wednesday rundown of SEVEN amazing ways to spend your hump day. Keep reading for the scoop on Washed Out, Night Beds, Pokey LaFarge, Pusha T, Turbo Fruits, Daniel and the Lion, and Music City Roots; literally something for everyone!

WASHED OUT w/ JENSEN SPORTAG
Exit/In | 9 p.m. (8 p.m. doors) | $20 | 18+

Probably my top pick of the night, chillwave pioneer Washed Out will be bringing his lo-fi, sweeping, dreampop sound to Exit/In, along with Jensen Sportag. If you’re looking for a hip, artsy indie show, this is your best bet.

NIGHT BEDS w/ FUTURE UNLIMITED, BOOM FOREST
The Stone Fox | 9 p.m. | $3 | 18+

Presented by Red Bull Sound Select, this $3, three band bill certainly takes the cake for for the night’s top value, but, price aside, it’s a pretty unbeatable trio of acts. We already gave you a full preview here. Be sure to show up early; it’s first come, first served!

POKEY LaFARGE  w/ THE TILLERS, BRADFORD LEE FOLK & THE BLUEGRASS PLAYBOYS
Mercy Lounge | 9 p.m. (8 p.m. doors) | $14 | 18+

If traditional is more your bag, American roots revivalist Pokey LaFarge has got just what you need. We adored Pokey’s record release show earlier this year at Third Man, and can’t get enough of his enigmatic stage presence.

PUSHA T w/ OPENMIC, PURPL MONK, DUCKO MCFLI, THATGUYSODA, DJ RATE
Anthem | 9 p.m. | $30 | 18+

On the other end of the spectrum, rapper Pusha T is out in support of his hot new album, My Name Is My Name, and making a stop at Anthem. The Clipse member and Kanye West affiliate has never been more relevant; this one’s gonna get wild!

TURBO FRUITS, BLACKFOOT GYPSIES, GUNTHER DOUG, BAD COP
318 Elberta St. | 8 p.m.  | $5 ($7 after 10 p.m.)

Is a house show more your scene? Nashville Chillin’s got you covered. Catch four killer local acts, Turbo Fruits, Blackfoot Gypsies, Gunther Doug, and Bad Cop for just a $5 donation! Just be sure to be cool and respect the space!

DANIEL AND THE LION w/ MILES NIELSEN, BEN CAMERON
The Basement | 9 p.m. (8 p.m. doors) | $5 | 21+

If you’re in the mood for something a little more under the radar, Wisconsin/Nashville folk pop duo Daniel and the Lion will be gracing the stage at The Basement. Keeping with tonight’s affordability trend, this one’ll set you back just five bones.

MUSIC CITY ROOTS w/ JIM LAUDERDALE, SARAH JAROSZ, NORTH MISSISSIPPI ALLSTARS, JOHN FULLBRIGHT, BOBBY RUSH WITH BLINDDOG SMOKIN’
Loveless Cafe | 7 p.m. | $10 | All Ages

Hoping to get the most bang for your buck? You can never go wrong with a Music City Roots showcase. This week’s entire lineup is an extra solid one, but we’re recommending especially for rootsy, folky multi-instrumentalist and recent Grammy nominee Sarah Jarosz.
