ChanceTheRapper

Chicago’s Chance the Rapper is poised to be the Windy City’s next big success story. He’s headlining a national club tour, popping up on festival lineups, collaborating with the likes of Childish Gambino, and nabbing BET Award nominations, all before even releasing a proper studio album. It’s only a matter of time until he’s rocking stadiums like fellow Chicago native Kanye West is set to do tomorrow, so, if you’re a hip hop fan, you really don’t want to miss what might be your one chance to see Chance (see what we did there?) in a small(ish) room, TONIGHT at Cannery Ballroom. He’ll be joined by Chi-town DJs Rashad and Spinn, and, fortunately for you teenage types, this one’s open to all ages (but requires a parent or guardian for attendees under 16). Snag your tickets here, and find out more about the lineup after the jump!

CHANCE THE RAPPER

At only 20 years old, Chicago’s Chance the Rapper is already the subject of an endless array of hype. The rapper, whose entry point into the world of hip hop was his first listen to Kanye West’s The College Dropout (does that make you feel old?), has released just two mixtapes, last year’s 10 Day and this year’s Acid Rap, the latter of which made a dent on the U.S. R&B charts. With clever lyrics, a sharp flow, and an endlessly likable persona, Chance is well on his way to becoming the next big underground breakout artist, and, inevitably, a crossover act thereafter. Catch him now, or regret it later!

DJ RASHAD & DJ SPINN

Longtime friends and collaborators, Chicago underground DJs Rashad and Spinn were both instrumental in shaping the Chicago Juke and ghetto house sound. These dudes are real deal, old school DJs, with one eye on the history and legitimacy of the craft and the other on its future evolution. You’re not going to hear anything brash or dubsteppy here, they pull from old school hip hop, house, disco, ghettotech and more to create a hypnotizing, technical, and polished sound.

Chance the Rapper, DJ Rashad, and DJ Spinn will perform TONIGHT at Cannery Ballroom. The show is all ages (attendees under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian), begins at at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.), and tickets are available for $21.
