The tradition of the family band is rich with “cool” moms and dads that raise up their youngins to tap the tambourine alongside them, keeping the dream alive well into parenthood.
But let’s be real. How cool was The Partridge family, really? Exactly.
Enter: DMK… A Depeche Mode cover band consisting of a dad, Dicken Schrader, and his two badass kids, Milah and Korben. Hailing from Bogotá, Colombia, together the trio sings, plays the usual instruments, but also innovates with an array of household items like frying pans and soda bottles.
Personal favorite, “Enjoy the Silence”…
A little holiday prelude to “Everything Counts”…
“Black Celebration” with awesome use of tin cans…
Their take on “Strangelove”…
And an insanely adorable live performance of “Just Can’t Get Enough”…
Now, isn’t your day better? Like the family on Facebook to stay in the know (and possibly further divert yourself this fine Hump Day).
