Whether you know him from The Smiths, Modest Mouse, The Cribs, The The, The Healers, Electronic, or any one of the other of the other numerous projects Johnny Marr has been associated with, it’s indisputable that the famed guitarist is one of the most influential, eclectic, and legendary figures in modern rock music. Though his post-Smiths endeavors have been met with less attention than his former bandmate Morrissey’s, Marr has crafted an even more dynamic, progressive, and forward-thinking legacy in his own right. As we told you back in the summer, Johnny will be passing through Music City in just a few short weeks, Nov. 22 at Marathon Music Works, with Meredith Sheldon set to open. Though you still have plenty of time to snag tickets, we’re also offering some free pairs to a few lucky winners. Keep reading to find out more about the show, and how you can enter!

JOHNNY MARR

We’re going to be bringing you all of the Johnny Marr coverage you can handle the week of the show, so stayed tuned for our Johnny MARRathon. Until then, we recommend revisiting his Smiths legacy, one and only outing with Modest Mouse, and his latest, The Messenger, which is technically Johnny’s only true solo-billed release.

MEREDITH SHELDON

Up and comer Meredith Sheldon has previously toured with The Lemonheads, and was handpicked to open for Marr both across North America and abroad. Her unique, eclectic, indie rock sound clearly resonates like someone who grew up on a steady diet of Marr’s own back catalogue. Stay tuned for more about Meredith during our MARRathon week.
