Pseudo-Nashville-based (or at least Nashville-formed) duo The Civil Wars have just released a new music video for “Dust to Dust,” the third single from their self-titled, sophomore album, which dropped back in August. Pieced together using footage from a 2011 trip to Paris, presumed lost, the video echoes the track’s minimalist, desperate themes of loneliness. Interestingly, the song itself was written last year during the European tour (a different trip from when the video footage was taken) on which the group announced their abrupt (and, ultimately, short-lived) hiatus, so it’s not a stretch to assume some of the contributing feelings made their way into its lyrics.
After the jump, check out the sparse, understatedly gorgeous video for one of the most simple, pleasant tracks The Civil Wars has to offer.
