You might know them as the band who stirred up Nashville by baring some skin on a banner hanging on the building that houses both Grimeys and local label Thirty Tigers, or maybe you caught them at their Grimeys instore yesterday! However you know them, Those Darlins is sure showing Nashville some love, and you can show them some back by entering our contest to win tix to their show this Friday night at Mercy Lounge with Adia Victoria, Bully, & Music Band (yes, that’s a band name). Click through for a preview of the lineup including a hot video from Those Darlins, and details on how you can win a pair of tickets to Friday’s show.
THOSE DARLINS
Those Darlins aren’t afraid to ruffle feathers, and we’re thankful for that. The genre-bending “country punk” outfit returns to songs with heavy tinges of twangy, old school rock n’ roll (think early Stones, Ramones) in Blur the Line, which is perfectly exemplified in their rump-shakin’ music video for “Optimist” (see below). Blur the Line blends gritty guitar tones and sweet-as-candy vocal harmonies to create a mature album of work which depicts the foursome as a troupe of melancholy rock darlings that aren’t afraid to candidly sing about the good, the bad, and the sexy in their respective searches for individuality.
Friday night’s lineup also includes opening sets from Adia Victoria, Bully, & Music Band.
