Dolly Parton‘s classic “Jolene” is undoubtedly one of the greatest songs of all time. Even Miley Cyrus can’t ruin it. And now longtime fans of the jam are all a-tizzy not with a new cover, but by a slowed down version of Dolly’s original. Known as the “Slow Ass Jolene” (stay class, internet!) – this version simply claims to be 45rpm recording slowed to 33rpm and it awesomely haunting. It’s legit fascinating and sure to divert you from your mid-week woes!

Yeah. Don’t you sort of want Brittany Howard to do this song now? Well, while we don’t have that yet (here’s hoping!) Here’s The White Stripes doing their take…

Laura Marling with a little help from Mumford and Sons

And Brandi Carlile learned them lines

Me First And The Gimme Gimmes punk it up

And Ms. Mindy Smith

And Alison Kraus, naturally

And finally, adorable “Eva”… age 11!

And now we’re off to see what other songs sound awesome in slow-mo… because a little diversion never hurt anyone!
