British rockers The Virginmarys embody the essential elements of rock: screaming guitars, gritty vocals, and driving drums. They’re more than your average grunge/punk band that lists Nirvana as an influence on their music, though. The trio makes a stop in Nashville this Saturday night at our very own Exit/In in support of their first full-length album King Of Conflict, which was received with much critical acclaim. Sound good to you? We’ve got tickets to give away to this killer show, where The Virginmarys will be joined by American Fangs and The Poor Boys. Read more about the bands, listen to their tunes, & get details on how you can win tickets to the show after the jump!

THE VIRGINMARYS

Think the swagger of Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme combined with Dave Grohl’s screams circa One by One. This rock trio has just one full-length album under their belt, but their 2013 release King of Conflict is as solid as they come. They also just released a “Stripped” version of the record, where they did actual acoustic versions of all of the tracks, instead of simply cutting the electric guitars from the mix like many bands are apt to do in this age of Pro-Tools. Check out their video below for “Just A Ride” from King of Conflict to get a feel for the riffy, sexy rock n’ roll goodness that is The Virginmarys.

AMERICAN FANGS

High energy alt-rockers American Fangs released their self-titled debut LP this year, citing influences such as the Foo Fighters and Stone Temple Pilots. The 5-piece band hails from Houston, TX, and have already been on supporting bills with bands like Deftones and Chevelle. Check out the video for their hooky and attitude-filled single “Pomona” below.

THE POOR BOYS

Nashville locals The Poor Boys start off the show on Saturday at 9pm, and these boys like to party almost as much as they like to rock, channeling Led Zeppelin-esque bluesy riffs and guitar tones reminiscent of AC/DC. Check out their tunes on Soundcloud below to get a preview.
