Luella & The Sun

In the lead up to the benefit for Luella & The Sun on August 2nd, we are one of the lucky sponsors to be premiering the video for their newest single, “I Got Soul”.  The video was recorded live a few weeks after the June 8th, 2013 fire that destroyed the studio (Wow & Flutter) and half the home of guitarist Joe McMahan.  This was where Joe and Luella lived, where the band developed their sound, and where they recorded their two-song 10″ vinyl debut.  In order to shoot the video, Director Michael Trebing (Cage Free Visual) and the band (Joe, Luella, bassist Adam Bednarik and drummer Jon Radford)  rented generators and lights to film in the powerless, charred, soot-filled space. Mixer/Producer Tchad Blake (Black Keys, Tom Waits) lent his talents to mix the live recording.

We have the video and more information about the benefit after the jump. Do some good for some good Nashvillians, and come out to support with us!

On August 2nd, GoodBAMMSho, No Country For New Nashville, Do615, East Nashville Underground, & Mercy Lounge presents After The Fire – A Benefit Concert for Luella and the Sun. The event will be held at Nashville’s Mercy Lounge, and features performances by Justin Townes Earle, Altered Statesman, Los Colognes, Webb Wilder, DUGAS, James Wallace and the Naked Light and Luella and the Sun. All proceeds from After The Fire will go to Luella and the Sun. The show starts at 8pm, and you can get your tickets here. Additional sponsors for the event include Thirty Tigers, Silly Goose, Cage Free Visual, All Eyes Media, Five Points Pizza, Pepperfire, Do615, Grimeys, Native, OurVinyl, Revival Vinyards, Midtown Printing, The East Nashvillian, Blue Moon, Leinenkugel’s and Lightning 100. There will also be a raffle with prizes from our sponsors to be given out during the evening.  Be a part of this very special night!
