Fresh off a run opening for legendary rockers Alice in Chains, Atlanta’s O’Brother are kicking off a handful of more intimate headlining dates tonight with a stop at The End. Rounding out an exciting bill, the experimental rockers are joined by HRVRD and Daylight. Find out more about all three groups, and why this show’s just too good to pass up, after the jump!
O’Brother are a hard band to classify. All at once agressive yet melodic, ambient yet focused, heavy yet accessible, and experimental yet familiar, it’s no wonder the Georgia five-piece have made some tremendous strides in a relatively short amount of time. With only one proper full-length under their belt, the band have already shared the stage with the likes of Thrice, Circa Survive, Cage The Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, and, of course, Alice in Chains. With a compelling, emotionally charged, eclectic, and dense sound, and a top-notch live show to match, O’Brother are one of the most interesting up and coming bands in the scene, and one you don’t want to miss.
HRVRD (formerly Harvard) recently released their second album, From the Bird’s Cage, on Equal Vision Records. Expanding the ambient, experimental sound the band established on their debut, Bird’s Cage finds HRVRD sounding more confident, balancing their knack for endlessly catchy pop hooks with layered, technical instrumentation. The passion and heart driving each track spills into the album, but to fully realize how special and unique a band HRVRD are, their live show brings their infectious sound fully to life.
Pennsylvania rockers Daylight cut their teeth in the punk scene, sharing the stage with the likes of Transit, Hostage Calm, and Basement, but their style actually lands more in the realm of hard/alt rock. With a sound honed by several EP releases and a tremendous live show forged by relentless touring around the globe, Daylight are already generating buzz from both the underground and mainstream scene, and their debut album, Jar, has barely been out for a month.
O’Brother, HRVRD, and Daylight are set perform tonight at The End in Nashville. The show kicks off at 8PM, it’s 18+, and tickets are still available here.
