Baltimore Natives Think Alike: Animal Collective & Dan Deacon To Play Marathon Music Works.

As reported by the Nashville Scene, Animal Collective and Dan Deacon will play Marathon Music Works on March 13. This bill makes perfect/weird Baltimore sense, since Animal Collective’s music video for the song “Today’s Supernatural” screams weird. In fact, it might indicate that the band members all went to a Sahara circus together and decided to grind every possible hallucinogenic drug into a blender and chug the whole thing between the four of them. I’m a little confused with this record after digging on Merriweather Post Pavilion. But who am I to judge? You judge. Or see what my friend’s cat thinks here. Or just watch the video below:

The opening track on Dan Deacon’s latest record America sounds like a Native American warrior breaking the sound barrier with a tomahawk. He’s known for ear-defying electronic jams. Check out Dan Deacon live in concert at the South By Southwest festival with the two-drummer setup below:

Both Deacon and the Collective are know for great live shows, so this should be a great time at Marathon. Tickets go on sale this Friday, January 18 for $25 a pop and you can grab them here. Tickets on the day of the show are $27.
