San Antonio based Hacienda is spending the weekend in Nashville, and it is definitely something that should be on your radar. There music is a fun, summertime, inspirational stewpot with two dashes of Spoon, a teaspoon of The Beach Boys, a sprinkle of Foster The People, a Fitz & The Tantrums garnish, and a base of original awesomeness. I’ve spent quite a bit of time with this record recently, and it has been the perfect solution to a stressful week. Have a listen to the tracks “Savage” and “Let Me Go” below to let your week’s angst melt away.
Hacienda first hit a bit of national attention with their 2008 release Loud Is The Night and followed that up with 2010’s Big Red & Barbacoa. Enough national attention, and you find yourself on tour with the likes of The Black Keys… and going on tour with The Black Keys ends up with Dan Auerbach producing your third LP Shakedown, which released June of 2012.
Hacienda are currently out touring in support of Shakedown, and it is all about Nashville this weekend. There is a free in-store performance going on over at Grimey’s at 5pm which corresponds perfectly with their beer:30 end of the day celebration. They are also playing a gig on Sunday night at Third & Lindsley with Teitur and Young Hines, and we are giving away a pair of tickets for that one. You can enter by email right here with the subject line “Tickets”. On top of that, we are also giving away two copies of their newest record Shakedown, and you can enter to win that by email right here with the subject line “Record”. Winners will be able to choose vinyl or CD format. All winners will be notified by 4pm 2pm on Saturday (sorry for the change, I have to run), so, if you don’t get a response from us, you should head over to Grimey’s for the free show and grab your own copy.
Just get out and see some live music this weekend.
