It’s a pretty big weekend, per usual, in Nashville, so I thought I would get you started with a little preview of Little Barrie, AJ & The Jiggawatts, and Purple at The Basement on Friday night.  Get out and see some live music this weekend!

Little Barrie are an English phenomena mixing lo-fi R&B, Soul, Surf, and Rock into one well polished package.  Their most recent record, titled King Of The Waves, is just another impressive output from these kids, and it has led to a North American tour following the US release of that record in February 2012.  Well, it’s exciting stuff that Grimey and Co. managed to land them at The Basement while they are en route to St. Louis to play Loufest this weekend.  You can check out the video for “Surf Hell” below.

The bill also includes Nashville’s AJ & The Jiggawatts, who could clearly give Sly & The Family Stone a run for the money.  We’ve talked about them a bit before, and they posted a pretty fun EP titled The Drop on Soundcloud a few months ago.  You can have a listen to that one below.

Your night gets started at 9pm with Purple, but you can try to figure out how to google that one on your own.  Tickets are $8.  Get out and see some live music.
