Ok, you’re going to think I am just cleaning out my inbox here, but check out this email I got from Dan Sommers of Poly yesterday. I just thought that the post would be said best by him, so… take it away Dan.

Hi, Matt!
My name’s Dan Sommers- I’ve played/play in a bunch of stuff around town, but I wanted to blindly email you about a 7″ release we’re having this Saturday at Zombieshop. The band is Poly- it’s Larissa Maestro, Eleonore Denig, & me.
We have very few rules, but they are:
-there are three of us
-all acoustic instruments
-no guitar
-no drums
We sing slightly silly songs about scissors, sidewalk chalk, Cary Grant, parachutes, cats, and love, I suppose.
An incomplete list of instruments we use:
cello, violin, ukulele, banduria, mandocello, upright bass, melodica, suitcase kick, trumpet, trombone, kazoos, assorted percussion of both hands and feet, toy piano, glockenspiel, three voices, & magic
We’re a little ridiculous. We switch around instruments a lot.
Okay! So it’s probably best to just let you hear/see some of it-

A live performance of one of the songs (“Sidewalk”) from the 7″

From the same session, but this song (“Parachute”) isn’t from the 7″

– a third (“Give It A Go”) from the same session.

We’re also doing a free Grimey’s in-store on the “street date” of Tuesday, August 7, at 6 pm.
I’ve attached lots of stuff- a jpeg of the 7″ cover, the show poster, and the in-store poster. Sorry if that crowds your inbox.
I really like your blog, and even if this isn’t something that’s up your alley, thanks for contributing to the, um, good parts of Nashville.
Please let me know if you’d like more information on anything!
Dan
