A Place To Bury Strangers, Tonight, Mercy Lounge

It’s a busy Monday night on Cannery Row.  The ironically named Tallest Man On Earth is playing downstairs at Cannery, and the traditional Monday night 8 off 8th showcase is happening at The High Watt.  However, you will probably hear A Place To Bury Strangers from the Mercy Lounge stage all over that building.

APTBS are touring in support of their forthcoming new album Worship. It’s a beautiful record of crashing, wailing scrawl, and gothic, post-rock melodies and textures. Live they’re one of the loudest bands in the biz, playing with tremendous effect with nothing but onstage projectors lighting their way. Lead singer/ guitarist Oliver Ackermann runs his own business making custom effects pedals called Death by Audio, guaranteeing you’ll hear something you’ve never heard before. These guys leave everything on the stage including their guitar strings which rarely make it through a full set.  You can check out a live vid, and the all rock and roll, not safe for work video for “You Are The One” below to see what I am talking about.

Things get started around 9pm with openers Little Viking & Hunters.  You can snag your tickets here.  If you like loud rock and roll, this is not to be missed.  Get out and see some live music.
