Yeasayer, Delicate Steve, & Five Knives, Cannery Row, Tonight In Nashville

It’s another stellar night in Nashville down on Cannery Row.  Make your plans and get out to see some live music tonight.

So, let’s get started with Yeasayer.  Unless you have been under a rock for the past couple of months and have never heard of big time music blogs like Pitchspoon, Stereoyum, or Spun, then you have probably already heard the highly publicized leaked tracks by Brooklyn’s electro-pop sweethearts Yeasayer.  If you haven’t heard them, you can check out some of the leaked stuff from their upcoming album Fragrant World (releasing August 21st on Secretly Canadian) below, and you can still grab your tickets for their show at The Cannery Ballroom here.

Things get started at Cannery with Delicate Steve who blew my mind last summer at The Basement.  This self-described enigma “is a 40 piece multi-instumentalist, who sounds like My Bloody Valentine without the guitars, and is destined to be a wordless, new jersey, U2.”  It’s definitely worth getting there a little early for this one.  Check out the 2011 release Wondervision below.  Did you just decide you wanted to buy tickets?

You can head upstairs to The High Watt for only an extra $5 to check out Nashville’s answer to Sleigh Bells.  If you don’t already know Five Knives, I think you are kinda behind the eight ball here, but you can make all of that up tonight by sticking around for their afterparty set with Brandon Jazz & His Armed Forces, Telemitry, and a special DJ set by Chris Keating of Yeasayer.

All in all, it is going to be a hell of a night on Cannery Row, so get out and see some live music.

was at the show, judging by all the new songs in Yeasayer’s set, I think the new album is going to be killer! It was also my first time seeing Five Knives and I was impressed.
