Thrasher Magazine Presents Corrosion of Conformity at Exit/In on Sunday

Here’s a little note about the show of the weekend from our resident dirt-bag, skateboarding, hesher Bad Robby.  Check it…

Like it heavy but not THAT heavy?  Like skateboarding?  If you said yes to either of these, you need to get your dirt-bag ass down to see the Thrasher Magazine sponsored tour featuring Corrosion of Conformity, Torche and Black Cobra. COC have been in the game since the early 80s, putting out album after album of heavy goodness.  Their classic “Animosity” is one of the first “crossover” records, melding punk and heavy metal, opening the doors for countless other heavy bands.  The openers on the bill are really strong as well:  Torche play a melodic brand of sludge metal, with riffs that wash over you with a waves of fuzz and clean vocals, pummeling you happily into submission. Black cobra are a two piece that dwell in sludge as well, but no pretty melodies or vocals here.  Imagine if High On Fire and Motorhead had a set of misanthropic twins, and you’d have Black Cobra. Check some of tracks below. Things get started at 8pm, and you can grab your tickets here. Get out and see some live metal!
