Do you remember us telling you about Diamond Rugs right around the end of the year?  Then we caught a glimpse of this madness of that debut show at The Earl in Atlanta and showed you a bit of that mayhem?  Well, they are officially releasing their first single “Gimme A Beer”, and they are giving it to you for free download by simply retweeting or liking how awesome they are (their words, not mine) on Facebook.

For those of you that don’t know what the hell I’m talking about (and are too lazy to click on the links above), Diamond Rugs is the side project of Deer Tick’s John McCauley (more news on him on Thursday, but you might want to block out Thursday night to party) & Robbie Crowell, Ian Saint Pé of Black Lips, Steve Berlin from Los Lobos, Hardy Morris from Dead Confederate, and Bryan Dufresne who briefly played with Six Finger Satellite.  It is nothing more than a raucous good time, and we are eagerly awaiting the release of their debut record on April 28th.

I’ve attached the video for “Christmas In A Chinese Restaurant” below, and like I said you can have a listen to “Gimme A Beer” here.  I’m sure you, oh master of the internet, can figure out how to download it if you need to.
