Man, so much going on. We’ve already touched on Friday night with the Lucero at Mercy Lounge and Kingston Springs/Birdcloud shows at Exit/In. But that is just the warm up for the weekend, we still have the big night… the real night… the night where you aren’t tired from work… where you are probably a little buzzed from day drinking while watching football… but, I am digressing about my bad habits. So, here’s a plan for YOUR Saturday night in Nashville.
Lucero is playing at Mercy Lounge again on Saturday night, so if you didn’t catch them on Friday night, then that is certainly an option for you. Manchester Orchestra is playing at the Cannery Ballroom, but it is completely sold out. Honestly, I wasn’t as excited about Manchester Orchestra as I was for White Denim and The Dear Hunter. I’ve been a fan of White Denim for a few years, but for some reason I have passed up several opportunities to see them. The Dear Hunter is a name that keeps popping up as I am working on another blog post, so I have been listening to a lot of them lately.
So, why did I pass up my opportunity to see White Denim again this time? Wanda Jackson and The Black Belles are playing at Marathon Music Works tonight, and it’s free if you voted in that little contest a few months ago. I’m not going because it is free, and I am not really going because of the acts… though I am excited to see Wanda Jackson and The Belles, again. It’s really about checking out Nashville’s newest venue!
It’s gonna be a hell of a night out. If you won the contest for free tickets, you should have gotten an email from Marathon with instructions for free tickets. If you didn’t enter, you can still head over to see the show. Tickets are $12, and you can grab them here. Doors are at 7pm, and things get started around 8pm.
No matter which show you choose, get out and see some live music this weekend.
