Do you remember Bonnaroo?  Man, that seems like so long ago.  Gone are those filthy hot days and we are easing into fall around here (thank your god).  What I do remember from Bonnaroo was how freaking awesome J. Roddy Walston & The Business were in that little tent on the farm, and, guess what, you can experience some of that again tomorrow night at 12th & Porter in Nashville!  I was going to post this on Saturday, but I just realized for those of you in Knoxville (I will be this weekend) that they are playing at Barley’s Taproom on Friday night (10/7).  Oh, hell yeah!

This is what you feel like after a J. Roddy show!

I’ve been talking about these rockers for a while (Bonnaroo preview, Bonnaroo wrap up with videos, Lebowski Fest) and I even thought my friend should consider divorce for this show (I’m pretty sure his wife doesn’t read this blog).

I’ve blabbed on and on about how awesome these guys are so, check out the links above if you want to read more.  I’ve attached an updated player below with their self-titled release for Vagrant Records, as well as, some vids from their recent Austin City Limits performance and a Google Music Magnifier “interview”.  Here’s the thing about this band…. you can read and listen all you want, but this is a BAD ASS LIVE BAND.  You may like what you hear on the record, but you won’t tell your buddy to consider divorce until you’ve seen them live!  Especially in small venues like these.  Don’t F this one up, get out there and see these guys this weekend.  You won’t be disappointed.

Tickets are only $10 for the 12th & Porter show, and things get started with The Bohannons and the Sex Bombs around 8:30pm.  For those of you in Knoxville, Nashville’s Kingston Springs opens it up.
