My Morning Jacket, Memorial Gym, October 20th

How did I miss this last week?  How can I hear about the December 14th MMJ/Band of Horses show at Madison Square Garden, but not hear about them opening their tour with a stop at Nashville’s Memorial Gymnasium?!?  I’m slipping.

Luckily for all of us tickets are still available.  This show should have a pretty cool sound to support their Circuital album, which was actually recorded in a gymnasium in their hometown of Louisville to give the band the soaring echo-y sounds that have made Circuital one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2011.    That is a very busy week of music here in Nashville, and I know that you will start eating your Wheaties now to be able to hit them all.  Tickets are $15 for Vandy students with an ID, and prices jump to $30 to $40 for those of us that are supposedly old enough to have a job.

Below is a player with their setlist from this years 2011 Austin City Limits Festival for your morning listening pleasure.  (note: player won’t work on an iPhone, bummer).
