Jimmy Gnecco at 12th and Porter July 7th

Tonight in Nashville….

If you want to see some great music without reliving a greatest hits album (The Psychedelic Furs) or ironically seeing a show at The Hard Rock Cafe (The Greenhornes), Jimmy Gnecco formerly of the band “Ours” will be performing at 12th and Porter in Nashville tonight (July 7th).  Gnecco is no stranger to the music business.  Ours formed officially in 1992. Several years later, after a handful of setbacks and personal conflicts, Jimmy Gnecco was signed as a solo artist to DreamWorks Records in 1997 under the moniker of Ours. Ours have released three official albums to date: Mercy (Dancing for the Death of an Imaginary Enemy) (2008), Precious (2002), and their label debut Distorted Lullabies (2001).  He has gone on to do many other collaborative efforts with Brian May (of Queen), Neverending White Lights, Savoy, Big Country, and a-ha.  His first solo record The Heart was released in July 2010 on Bright Antennae.

Listening to Gnecco always makes me think that I am listening to an old unreleased Radiohead album.  If that is the sound that you dig, then you should head over to 12th and Porter to see him do an “intimate acoustic performance with special guests” on Thurday July 7th at 7pm.

If you aren’t familiar with Jimmy Gnecco, click here to listen to songs from his most recent release.  Get out and see live music.
