Murfreesboro indie-rockers We Were The States are playing at The End in Nashville on Friday July 1st. Offering up a frenetic mix of punk-twinged-guitar-rock with pop hooks, these guys have been playing together since 2007. They released their first LP Believe The Theives in 2008 which received pretty widespread acclaim. Their sophomore release Rasa (late 2010 on Chicken Ranch Records) has a slightly more mature sound. These guys tore up SXSW last year, and were written up by Wired.com as one of “9 SXSW Bands That Blew Us Away Unexpectedly”.
You get your chance to be blown away on Friday July 1st at The End for only $5. You can read an interview with AOL’s Spinner from the same 2010 SXSW festival. There are links to some songs from both albums below. You can also download the album version of “Hot Waves” for free from their website for the cost of an email address.
