Once just the dream-child of New Jersey singer-songwriter Joe Michelini, these folksters have come on strong through perseverance and determination. They self produced an EP (Nautical Sabbatical) in 2009 and hit the road as a touring tour-de-force. River City Extension signed with XOXO Records to release their first LP (The Unmistakable Man) in 2010. Since then things have been looking up for the eight east coast musicians comprising River City Extension. They have received favorable reviews and attention from the likes of Paste, Spin, and NPR. And, they are booked for a number of festivals this summer, including our own Bonnaroo. They will be playing at This Tent on Thursday June 9th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Definitely swing through to check these guys out.
