No Country Guide to Tomato Art Fest 2016

Tomato Art Fest 2016

Tomato Art Fest is coming up this weekend, Aug. 12 & 13, and, once again, we are here to help you get acquainted with the musical aspects of this year’s events on Friday and Saturday.  Friday night features the “Block Party” in Five Points.  While Saturday features three stages of music that will bring you pretty much anything that your big tomato heart desires.  Read on for more info about all the Tomato Art music acts, and scroll all the way to the bottom for a full fest schedule.

FRIDAY – Aug 12

TOMATO ART BLOCK PARTY | Xfinity Main Stage (11th btw Woodland & Holly) | 7pm | Free | All Ages

9 pm JEFFREY JAMES :: 8:15 pm ELISE DAVIS :: 7pm BECCA MANCARI

Tomato Art Fest gets things started again this year with their Friday night block party.  This eclectic lineup features danceworthy R&B alt-popster Jeffrey James, lo-fi rocker Elise Davis, and local singer songwriter Becca Mancari.  Head below to check out Jeffrey James’s video for “Lay” below to start practicing your dance moves.

SATURDAY – Aug 13

TOMATO ART FEST | Xfinity Main Stage (Beyond The Edge Parking Lot) | 10am | Free | All Ages

8pm KANSAS BIBLE COMPANY :: 7pm MUSIC BAND :: 6pm CHROME PONY :: 5pm FLORALORIX :: 4pm THAT’S MY KID :: 3pm GOTH BABE :: 2pm JONELL MOSSER :: 1pm FANNY’S HOUSE OF MUSIC FT. THE TOURETTES & DUDETTE :: 12pm MEET THE SEAVERS :: 11am RAYVON PITTS :: 10am HALFBRASS

If we had the money that Xfinity does, not only would we provide reliable internet service, but this would also be the lineup that we would have booked for the Saturday main stage.  You can expect the horn-fueled indie rock prowess of Kansas Bible Company, the fuzzed out garage rock of Music Band, party rockers Chrome Pony, the roots reggae flair of Floralorix, groovy psych rockers That’s My Kid, and the reverb laced psych rock of Goth Babe.  You’ll also get performances from vocal powerhouse Jonell Mosser, Fanny’s House of Music presenting Tourettes and Dudette, and more.  Make sure you start your Saturday off right with the righteously funky Halfbrass.

TOMATO ART FEST | Edley’s Bar B Que Stage (10th & Woodland) | 11am | Free | All Ages

5pm ANTHONY BILLUPS :: 4pm RED WINE HANGOVER :: 3pm JORDAN HOBSON :: 2pm ANTHONY ADAMS & THE NITE OWLS :: 1pm GEORGE SHINGLETON :: 12pm WESTERN MEDICATION :: 11am NASHVILLE ACADEMY OF ROCK

On the, relocated this year, Edley’s Bar B Que Stage you’ll get sets from blog favorites Western Medication early in the day, before the eclectic bill offers up sets from rockers Red Wine Hangover, twangy funny man Anthony Billups, and the melodic rock of Anthony Adams & The Nite Owls to name just a few.

TOMATO ART FEST | Muddy Roots Stage (11th & Russell) | 10am | Free | All Ages

4pm DYLAN WALSHE :: 2pm THE HARDIN DRAW :: 12pm LOW ELECTRIC REVIVAL :: 11am KRISTINA MURRAY :: 10am WOODY PINES

Our pals over at Muddy Roots are back again to bring you some of the best of the Americana genre.  They’ve been hosting their own stage at Tomato Art Fest for a few years now, and it’s always worth wandering over to check out what they are working on these days.  This year you’ll get a taste of Irish singer songwriter Dylan Walshe, local southern folksters The Hardin Draw, indie rockers Low Electric Revival, throwback singer songwriter Kristina Murray, and old timey outfit Woody Pines.  Trust us, if you like roots music, you will want to check out this incredible lineup for a little bit.
