Well, folks, JT Daly as done it again. The Paper Route frontman has taken the reins on a new project called JT Daly & The Blood Orchestra. His first official release under that title, called “The Blackest Bird”, dropped today. Written and composed entirely by JT himself, the single is an instrumental piece that is being used as the score for the short film Blood & Oil from Cale Glendening. Not only is the film incredibly shot, but I can’t get enough of this song!
“The Blackest Bird” is filled with fantastic undertones; and with the drones creating such an ambience that simply compliments the visual and prose, instead of distracting from it. The cello is nicely placed as the obvious voice for the piece. This score is brilliantly composed to change precisely with each scene cut. Standard chord progression are thrown out the window, and the song as a whole is unpredictable in the best, most beautiful way. From flawless dynamics to fantastic undertones, JT Daly proves, once again, that he is one of the most brilliant musicians of our time with “The Blackest Bird”. We can’t wait to hear what’s next from JT Daly & The Blood Orchestra. In the meantime, head over to iTunes to buy the single now, and check out the film below!
