Tonight in Nashville | 3.18.13

What’s that, SXSW is over? Sorry, I couldn’t hear you over the stampede of shows hitting Nashville tonight.

Everyone booked it out of Austin at the same time and whether they’re heading home or hitting the road, plenty of them have wound up in Music City this evening. You’ve got no excuse not to catch a great show tonight! (Unless you just got back from Austin and you’re still nursing that SXSW hangover. I guess that’s an okay excuse…)

We’ve highlighted some of our favorite picks below:

ALT-J w/ Hundred Waters
@ Cannery Ballroom | 9PM (8PM doors) | 18+ | SOLD OUT

Indie rockers Alt-J are our top pick tonight. They managed to sell out Mercy Lounge then Cannery once the show got moved. If you didn’t grab a ticket when you had your second chance, you’ll have to try Craigslist.

Our second most-anticipated show, Local Natives, is also sold out. It seems like the rest of Nashville loves the indie rockers’ new record Hummingbird as much as we do.

Local boys Colorfeels are making a home stop in the middle of a tour. They were one of our favorite parts of last East Nashville Underground. We just can’t get enough of this band or their hypnotizing live show!

If you’re up for a dancey, textured, atmospheric night, this is your show. We’re recommending as much for St. Lucia’s fantastic electropop as we are for our local favs Future Unlimited. Those dudes are insanely talented!

My Iron Lung, In Fidelity, Free Throw, Vales

San Diego’s My Iron Lung and England’s Vales are bringing their unique takes on hardcore to Nashville, supported by a couple of quality local hardcore and punk bands at an all ages venue for $8. Looking for an unpretentious, good old fashioned fun night? This is it.

Lo-fi, psychedelic, retro rock, and baraque pop galore. Most of these bands are on the road, and all four are amazing! Give them all a listen. This show is definitely the most bang for your buck!
